The Volume of Sacred Law is typically associated with which central document in lodge symbolism?

The Volume of Sacred Law represents the divine standard that guides a Mason’s actions and serves as a moral touchstone during lodge ceremonies. Its place on the altar emphasizes living according to the dictates of a higher power as expressed in sacred writings. In most lodges, the document placed on the altar is the Holy Bible, making it the typical association in lodge symbolism. While lodges of other faiths may use the sacred text of their tradition, the traditional and most common reference is the Holy Bible.
