What is the meaning of leveling all among Masons?

Leveling all among Masons points to equality in the lodge: when brethren come together, rank, office, wealth, or status are set aside so everyone stands on the same plane before the Great Architect. The Level symbol is about concealing those differences to foster unity and brotherhood. It’s not about sharing possessions or age-based leadership; those are separate ideas. The effect of leveling is precisely to hide differences in rank, ensuring no one is seen as above another while gathered as Masons.
